With Christmas coming up, I’ve been perusing the online marketplace for books for my eldest boy (5) that are empowering. Wherever I look, I find plenty of amazing, empowering books written for girls (which is awesome, and I want my boys to be exposed to these kinds of books and surrounded by girls that read them) but it seems that most books written for boys are filled with fart jokes. And although I’m not opposed to the occasional fart joke, I’d like to find some books geared toward boy readers that teach them how to be compassionate, good fathers, deal with their emotions in a healthy way, etc.

    Any good suggestions???

I really like the book The Giver but he might be a little too young for that one!
